1880, SWISS: B.H. Abrahams was known for making inexpensive music boxes. This example, a 19cm (7 - 1/2") fatty cylinder playing 20 ayers (tunes), 2 per revolution, and equipped with a zither attachment. Complete tune card, basic bass-wood cabinet with rose inlay on the lid. CONSIDERATIONS: The cabinet shows light wear, the rose inlay is intact, the mechanics work properly and the music box has good tonal quality. The non-descript tin cover to the operating linkage appears added. A rare cylinder with great sound, and a great addition to any collection.
