BAKER & HAMILTON HABERDASHERY CABINET WITH MIRROR AND GLASS FRONT DRAWERS

Early 20th century commercial Haberdashery fixture. This particular fixture was designed to fit into the wall as for a flush mount tall oak Haberdashery and general store display cabinet attributed to Baker & Hamilton. It has upper glass front display compartment with three-sided mirror interior and a substantial bank of shelves with drawers, which retain their old glass fronts allowing the contents to be well stored. There are additional drawer storage along the side. Retains the original hardware. Constructed from quartersawn oak with molded corners and straightforward commercial design, typical of the turn of the century merchantile. This has a particularly attractive presentation for small goods, advertising, and country store collectives. CONDITION: It retains an old surface with unexpected wear, staining, scratches, and evidence of long-term commercial use. An unusual surviving piece of early American store furniture.
