Circa early 20th century British Royal Artillery Captain full dress uniform with 2 hats and belt. The jacket is constructed of fine quality dark blue Melton cloth with ornate gold braids on the sleeves. The epaulettes are made of woven gold thread and display the insignia of 3 pips on either shoulder, indicating the rank of captain. The high collar is decorated with thick bullion grenades with red and gold trim that compliment the Royal Artillery buttons. Most buttons are marked "JENNENS & CO. LONDON", with others preserved under tissue paper and not visible. White quilted lining. Accompanying the tunic is a pair of tapered trousers with wide red strip. Trousers are of equal construction but are unlined. The set is complete with a leather and gold thread officer's snake buckled waist belt and nice leather document pouch with Royal Artillery insignia attached to the flap. Also included are 2 hats, 1 Royal Artillery officer's visor hat and 1 overseas hat. The visor is marked as a size 6 - 7/8 and retains the original J.G. Plumb * Son manufacturer label. Overseas hat is unmarked but exhibits nice Royal Artillery insignia. CONDITION: The uniform is very clean overall with little blemishes. Lining exhibits aging and scattered repairs but is intact. Trousers are equally clean with minor blemishes. Visor hat exhibits slightly warped brim but retains its shape. Overseas hat exhibits fading colors with obvious interior wear. Overall very good.
