C. 1905-1910. Caille Brothers Mfg. Detroit MI. This exceptional Caille Brothers “Centaur” triple slot machine represents one of the most ambitious and visually striking gaming devices produced in early twentieth-century America. Designed with three independently operated slot machines combined into a single cabinet, the configuration offered clear advantages to both operators and patrons, allowing an establishment to operate under a single license while providing customers the convenience of choosing their preferred denomination. Such multi-denomination machines were typically placed in higher-end saloons and prominent gaming venues. Provenance: Fresh to the Market. This slot was purchased from the Glen Larson collection over 35 years ago and has been in the Dauer family collection since that time. Originally found in a bar in Fairbanks Alaska and in our opinion is the finest of Caille triple slots known today. CONDITION: The richly carved oak cabinet is complemented by original and highly desirable harp-form castings, an uncommon survival that significantly enhances both rarity and visual appeal. The harp form castings were generally assembled with musical uprights and although this triple was produced without music, it could easily be added by several different restorers and would significantly enhance the value of such an investment. As one of Detroit’s premier slot machine manufacturers, Caille Brothers produced machines that emphasized craftsmanship, mechanical ingenuity, and theatrical presence. Fully restored and operational.
