Extremely fine condition matching serial number 178 Thompson “C” drum in correct original dull matte finish. Drum is marked “AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP, NEW YORK N.Y., U.S.A. PATENTED JULY 27 1920 DEC 7 1920 “NO 178” on main body with matching numbered cover. Original nickel rotor inside. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish of drum is extremely fine to near excellent original dull blue finish with only some slight thinning to a gray patina at the high edges. Nickel rotor and interior of drum has some indications of use but also retains some of the original preservative grease. Very unusual to find one of these “C” drums in this level of condition inside and out. Some careful work to the outside of this drum will really bring out what a high condition specimen it is. An almost unprecedented find for the advanced and discerning Thompson machine gun collector. JWK 2024-05-085

CORRECTION: Serial number amended.
EXTREMELY FINE CONDITION ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERED THOMPSON MACHINE GUN 100 ROUND “C” DRUM MAGAZINE.
