Ephraim Downes, Bristol Connecticut. Of typical form, the case with swan's neck pediment surmounted by three urn form brass finials of later vintage. The clock is fitted with a hinged door mounted with an eglomise panel decorated with a landscape within a floral border, flanked by freestanding colonettes, opening to an interior fitted with original 30 hour wooden movement, driven by two weights and striking on a bell. The original wood dial with time and strike apertures, within a Roman numeral chapter ring. The dial decorated with gold urn form spandrels. The case back retains original Ephraim Downes paper label. The whole raised on delicate tapered bracket feet with scrolled frontal apron. Clock is offered with weights, pendulum bob, winder, and door key. The case with old crusty original surface, painted dial is original with some paint loss. Eglomise panel with some flaking, veneer loss to corners of apron.
