Created third quarter 19th century, depicting classic pose of Abraham Lincoln seated in armchair, a book in his hands titled "Constitution" while studying a bust of George Washington on his left. Provenance: Accompanied by a letter by Hattie Klapp Brunner in which she states that this had been in her family for some time, and that a representative, Mr. Stogdell Stokes, of the Philadelphia Museum had expressed an interest in acquiring it.
