FINE REPPOUSSE DECORATED CUP HILT RAPIER.

Classically formed blade with a flatted 2 - 1/2" section above the cup. Decorated at flatted section and first 6 - 1/2" with stampings of fleur de lis. Cup with a rolled and faux-braided edge with repousse designs of a crowned and mustachioed monarch flanked by a pair of fleur de lis; additional fluer de lis stamps visible on blade under the cup. Crossguard with faceted designs and spiral fluted terminals. Spiral fluted grip wrapped with wire and finished by Turk's heads on either extremity. Pommel of a spiral fluted design. CONDITION: Very good. Essentially a smooth gunmetal grey throughout with flashes of darkness from cleaning. Some lead added to secure cup tighter. A very nice example.
