FORT PITT DOUBLE SIDED LIGHTED REVERSE GLASS HANGING SIGN

C. 1930s. Fort Pitt Beer - Fort Pitt Brewing Co - Jeanette, PA and Pittsburgh, PA. Double sided lighted reverse glass hanging sign with convex lenses. Manufactured by the Neon Globe Co. Inc. Norfolk VA USA. The original manufacturer's metal tag is still attached to the bottom edge of the can. Extremely difficult to find sign with original decorative steel arrow style mounting bracket. Has original neon tube with a replaced transformer. One lens is in clean overall condition with no cracks. Has some restoration primarily through the lettering, circles and outlining of the lettering. And some through the white background and building area. Other lens has cracks and is held together solidly by the can and is stable. The restoration is similar to the first lens. The lenses are 17.5". The can has been repainted. The white wood bracket the sign is mounted to is modern and painted. The original steel arrow hanging bracket has been painted. Incredible displaying sign representing the history of Fort Pitt, Pittsburgh and The Fort Pitt Brewing Co.
