This artwork was produced by Robert Robinson, a famed illustrator who studied under the great Howard Pyle. This work was produced for the US Cartridge Company of Lowell, Massachussets, promoting their famous waterproof Black Shells. This well known 19th century company was absorbed by Winchester in 1926. This brilliant full color poster features one of their most popular images, that of a hunter armed with his shotgun and followed by his faithful dog along with images of the two piece box of black shells. This lithograph measures approximately 19 x 32" and is framed to 26 x 38" in mission style oil finish quarter sewn oak. The piece retains both of its metal bands. The colors are still brilliant and shows only nominal creasing. Robinson's name and "09" appear in the lower right corner.
