A fine flower carved saddle with round skirts and a Cheyenne roll cantle. Added sterling silver scalloped conchos on the nice light color make this a good looking show saddle. The saddle is well marked with the later script "Lawrence" Portland cartouche. An added steerhead sterling horn cap and name plate on the cantle decorate the front and back of the 14" seat.

The George Lawrence company was established in 1857 at 1St & Oak St. in Portland, Oregon, the company was a saddlery and harness shop made famous by also production leather goods such as handgun holsters, cartridge belts, slings, scabbards, etc. At one time the George Lawrence Co. was the largest saddle and harness maker on the west coast.
