Developed in 1916 by Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft (AEG), the First Pattern magazine features a telescoping winding handle, a hexagonal AEG proof stamp, and often matching serialization. The drum relies on a dual-spring mechanism: a flat clock-spring for the drum section and a traditional coil spring for the neck. Operating them requires a careful, methodical process. The First Model German Luger Trommelmagazin (snail drum) and its specialized loading tool were designed during WWI to give stormtroopers and artillery gunners 32 rounds of 9mm. CONDITION: The drum has matching numbers and retains its original blued finish. There is some mottling of the finish and freckling. The loader has an original painted surface and shows similar signs of use. The leather carriers are in good shape, with loose thread above a rivet.
