All elements of 16th and 17th century armor are rare and desirable. This pauldron for the right shoulder is etched with floral and likely Pisan. Well articulated with roped comb, this pauldron was once part of an elegant and important suit. CONDITION: Fine, for an element of armor for this periods. Etching is light but visible on all lames. Interior shows the hammer marks of the maker and very old buff re-leathering, probably mid 19th century, and piece retains a fragmentary 19th century paper label, probably a museum or collection number. Some age appropriate darkness throughout, one area of rich fire blue protected by lames. Top two lames detachable at the leather, exercise caution.

Item Dimensions: 10" X 8"
