GERMAN THIRD REICH SS/POLICE SWORD.
Third Reich M36 SS/Police sword with a 29" blade marked "HERM.RATH, Solingen", and with the SS emblem in a diamond marking on the blade below the maker marks. Blade exhibits scattered marks, and appears to have been cleaned and/or polished. Blade is slightly loose in its fittings. Nickel-plated steel fittings have light scattered marks with a 1/2" area of light damage. The ebony grip retains half of its black finish with several quarter-inch dings and scrapes. Wire is slightly loose in some areas and the police emblem has been replaced. Scabbard retains most of its original finish, with scattered marks and light freckling. Nickeled fittings have light wear and areas of light freckling. Portepee appears to be an Imperial German example. CONDITION: Overall good.
