Camouflage German Combat Police Helmet retaining approximately 90% of the tan camouflage paint. Some scattered marks can be seen on the exterior of the helmet, from wear and storage over the years. There appears to be remnants of a black paint in areas over the tan camo, and in a few recesses, indicating that it may have possibly been stripped of a black paint at some point. Both decals of the helmet appear to have been hastily masked off prior to it being sprayed with the tan camo. Some of the tan camo overspray can be seen lying over the decals' edges in places. The decals give the appearance of having been rubbed at some point, indicating, once again, that this helmet may have had a black paint layer removed from it. The interior of the helmet shell exhibits a small area of minor aged surface rust, which has darkened considerably from age. The rear of the interior skirt area is stamped with the makers code of “Q” for the firm of “Quist”, a “64” for the size, and below that is the five digit lot number code “T3339”. The leather liner of the helmet is nicely intact and shows even wear from use. A minor tear in the leather of one of the tongues can be observed. There are initials penned on several places of the leather sweatband. The most noticeable of these initials are the “H.A.”, which can also be found painted on the helmet's interior skirt, as well as scratched into the camo paint on rear skirt's exterior. This helmet is believed to have surfaced in Florida from a veteran's estate, during the 1980’s. CONDITION: Overall very good. D.W.
