A rare and mesmerizing electric guitar, the Gretsch Penguin manufactured in the 1950s to the 60s, has it all from its fabulous appearance to captivating sound. This guitar was made in Japan, with Grover Imperial tuning keys and displays the serial no. JT11104175 carved on the back of the headstock. The neck is constructed of maple and has a chambered semi-hollow mahogany body with gold glittering decor lined throughout. The fretboard is embellished with eight pearl inlays, seven of which are adorned with a lotus or angel wing line drawing, similar to the penguin on the pickguard. The gold hardware such as the whammy bar and knobs match the Bigsby tail piece, Patent D-169120. Each of the four knobs have one red rhinestone affixed to the tip of the white center. No wear, rich sound. Guitar, 40-1/2"T x 14"W. Includes hardshell Gretsch case, 42"T x 16"W.
