World War II Japanese 20 x 3 ship binoculars in their original wood carry crate. The binoculars are marked "20 x 3 / Nikko/ No 434". Constructed of coated aluminum with brass lens shields. The original paint remains mostly intact but there are scratches and blemishes that are typical of wartime binoculars that were exposed to the conditions of the open ocean. The rubber and canvas eye pieces have dried, bubbled, and cracked with age and are in poor condition. They are kept separately in the carry case. Lens caps present. The optics remain clear with a bit of clouding and scattered blemishes. The binoculars measure approximately 23" long from end to end. Wood crate displays original label plaques with matching number "434". Lid exhibits one large crack. CONDITION: Good.
