IMPRESSIVE CORNER DRUG STORE LEADED GLASS MORTAR AND PESTLE LIGHT

This c. 1910s large and impressive leaded glass light in the form of a mortar and pestle features wonderful multi-colored jewels in the center, with the words "Cigars" and "Prescriptions" nicely scrolling around the bottom. CONDITION: The "Corner Drug Store" ruby red stained glass panels around the top remain in clean condition, however, they fit loosely in their slots. One of these panels has misspelled the word "Corner" as "Cornor." One of the panels shows a perfectly vertical crack where the panel is in two pieces. The "Cigars" and "Prescriptions" paneling along the bottom remains similarly clean and fits snuggly in their slots. The body of the light remains clean with the panels all retaining strong colors. The jewels are all present and show wonderful yellow, red, and blue colors. The top of the light shows the handle of the pestle sticking out. This sign hangs from two original hooks protruding from the top. The sign is internally lit by one fluorescent bulb and a modern power cord. An iconic and highly sought-after piece of Drug Store history.
