Measures 22 - 1/4" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Classic shinogi zukuri form measuring approximately 1 - 1/4" across motohaba and 5/16" across kasane. Iconic oil quenched suguha temper line. Bright nakago with katte sagari yasurime, single drilled mekugi-ana, and "632" assembly number. Ha agari kurijiri. Right sight of nakago with stamp for Toyokawa Naval Arsenal. Seppa and tsuba have "632" matching nakago. Saya with black painted body, floral-and-beaded semegane, koiguchi, and koijiri; single hanger looks to be a period iron replacement. Fuchi and kashira en suite, menuki in the form of chrysanthemums. Traditional tsuka with black same. CONDITION: Overall good. Blade has a clear line and polishing marks marks through. Cutting edge has a few chips, mostly towards kissaki. Mounts are good, tsuka wrap with lightening from hand wear but tight. Saya is very good, with lifting of painted exterior for approximately 16" along rear. Hanger has crudely carved initials, look like "R" in circle and "H.G.", possibly initials. A good example of a naval sword. EMW
