Measures 23 - 13/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Classic shinogi zukuri form with iori mune. Low shinogi. Muji hada, oil quenched gunome midare hamon, yakitsume boshi which runs off the ha. Unsigned nakago, katte sagari yasurime, with a kiri nakagojiri of rough proportions, one side bevelled. Single mekugi-ana, drilled. Classic army style mounts with double strap single hanger, floral-and-roe decorated koijiri, koiguchi, semegane, hanger, fuchi, and kabuto-gane. Traditionally wrapped tsuka with chrysanthemum menuki and rayskin same. CONDITION: Very good, blade is in near full polish with some surface marks on right side of blade that do not detract. Mounts are excellent with some light rubbing to high edges. Saya with virtually all of the IJA brown paint with a pebbled texture. Tsuba is very good with crisp definition and some minor spotting to rim. Tsuka excellent, tight. Most of these swords are not found in this good of condition. In a generic purple sword bag. EMW
