Classic double fullers with spearpoint tip, with normal Klingenthal manufacturing marks along spine. Klingenthal inspector marks on right side of ricasso. Handguard with three branches. Guard with "749" number and further inspector marks. Leather handgrip with braided brass wire. Capstan appears unmolested. Scabbard with two hangers and attractive braise line, inspected on face of throat. CONDITION: Very good. Blade has been cleaned in the European style with a few areas of darkness. Brass is very good and has an undisturbed patina with some nicks and bumps from use that do not detract. Grip is very good, wire is somewhat loose in a few places and leather has some crazing towards base. Scabbard is very good with an even patina and some inactive oxidation towards drag. An attractive French saber. EW
