An 1879 James J. Dolan signed document seeking the property of a deceased Fort Stanton, New Mexico trader. James Dolan, leader of the Murphy-Dolan Faction during the Lincoln County War along with L. G. Murphy, ran an operation called "The House". Dolan was a central figure in the killings of John Tunstall, Alexander McSween, and lawyer Huston Chapman.
