These were manufactured by the Burnside Firearms Co. in Providence, Rhode Island. It is a .54 caliber percussion breech loader widely used during the Civil War. This is a clean example that saw use. All matching numbers. Features a 20" barrel, walnut stock, and sling saddle bar on left side. This one saw use but is in excellent condition. The barrel is a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina. The frame colors have basically turned patina. Excellent fire blue on small frame parts. Perfect nipple. Perfect working order. Excellent walnut stock. Two perfect cartouches on left side. Numerous martial inspector stamps. Rear sling swivel intact. Near mint bore. Wonderful example of a popular Civil War carbine.
