Serial number F35172 etched on right side of stock band. Standard rifle and chambered in the .303 British cartridge. Frame is stamped No. 4 Mk1. Stock has the Holland and Holland Telescopic sight converted code S51 stamped on underside of wrist. Band is stamped M47C and an additional TR. Original Scope mount is serial number 33597. Bolt is stamped with same serial number as band, F35172. Receiver is stamped England which means it was approved for export. Metal parts have all the British proof marks. Stock is standard with added cheek piece mounted with two screws. Scope is an original No 32 Mk 111 as approved in 1944. It is numbered OS 2039A, AK &S No 16656 and dated 1944. Boyt 1944 dated sling. Metal finish is excellent as is the wooden stock. Bore is strong with perfect action. The sniping kit includes the original wooden carry case with leather handles. Metal case for scope, metal 1944 dated tin, spotting scope with leather carry case, bayonet. (All these kit parts are listed on page 135 of “Lee Enfield No. 4 and No 5 Rifles” by Stratton. Really great kit that should be a blast to shoot.
