This rifle was manufactured in 1900. Standard features include a 30" full octagon barrel, blued finish, single shot, falling block, walnut stocks, Swiss buttplate with added palm rest, tang rear sight and an adjustable globe Winchester front sight. Rifle is chambered for the .32-40 cartridge. Barrel is a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina. Frame retains approximately 40% of the high polish original factory blue, the balance with some minor flaking and high edge wear. Palm rest is contemporary to the gun and appears to have been custom applied. Has the big heavy buttplate turning patina. Stocks needs some work, there is a crack on the left of the fore end, a plug at wrist, a patch on right side, and a crack that extends 8" from the butt. Fairly strong rifled bore. Perfect action. With a professional reworking of the stock, this would be a mighty fine Schutzen rifle.
