.40-60 WCF with a 28" barrel. Manufactured 1884. Offered is a clean, untouched standard Model 1876 rifle with lots of original finish. Standard features: 28" full round barrel, full magazine, blued finish, walnut stock, rifle butt. Has the desirable 1876 dated rear folding ladder sight with original sporting front. Barrel and tube retain approximately 70-80% of the original factory blue finish, blending with a plum patina. Left side of the frame has approximately 50% original blue with the brown patina mixed in, with high edges turning a soft gun metal grey. Right side is basically the same with a little less blue and a little more patina. Strong elements of case colors on hammer. Wood is lovely, untouched, all original, proud to metal, with no cracks or major chips, just usual minor dings. Wood to metal fit is flawless. Still exhibits much of the original finish. Even the forend cap has flashes of brilliant blue. Strong clean rifled bore and a perfect action. This is an extremely nice example of an untouched 1876 with a high percentage of original finish and has never been messed with.
