The Winchester research states that the serial number was applied November 23rd, 1911 with no further records. Offered is a deluxe Winchester 1894 short rifle. Standard features include 20" full octagon barrel, full magazine, an 8-3/4" short rifle forearm, shotgun butt, and smooth steel buttplate. The stock and fore end are checkered. It has a Winchester pistol grip cap and is chambered for the .30-30 Winchester cartridge. Barrel retains approximately 90% original factory blue with some freckling. Tube is a pleasing mix of blue-brown. Nose cap retains approximately 40% original factory blue. Frame retains approximately 50% original factory blue with the balance a smooth patina. Stocks exhibit fiery special order wood that are very good with no cracks or chips. Rifle has seen use. There are some usual hunting marks and some loss of varnish with usual wear to checkering. Strong bore and perfect action. Very nice all original deluxe short rifle.
