This standard Model American was returned to the factory where the barrel was cut to 6", was refinished in January of 1946, and stamped inside the frame with the date. Refinished star on the butt. It was reblued at that point and the hammer and trigger guard were re-case colored. Front sight blade has been replaced. The revolver retains a majority of the reapplied blue finish. Barrel markings are sharp. Nice colors on hammer and trigger guard. It has a beautiful set of aged real ivory grips. A lanyard ring has been installed. Action is perfect. Strong clean bore. Extremely nice as factory refinished. Chambered for the .44 cartridge. Cylinder has a light drag line. Manufactured in 1870 - 72.
