Serial number is 391756, barrel length is 32-5/8", caliber is 45-70 govt. Standard military issued model 1884 Trapdoor rifle that has seen much use. This rifle is as issued condition with all original parts with the exception of the cleaning rod which is missing. While there is still some remaining high polish blue on side plate and hammer, the remainder of the metal surfaces are a dark chocolate brown patina with some freckling. The original walnut stock has numerous bumps and abrasions, the cartouche is no long visible but the stock is still solid with no cracks. The bore exhibits strong rifling and action is fine. With the addition of a rod and some judicial cleaning this rifle can be greatly improved upon and would be a great shooter.
