40" barrel in .46 bore-flintlock. Full octagon barrel is stamped on left flat “W.M. Large”. This is a solid, well-made, early full stock Pennsylvania flintlock rifle with sparse ornamentation. The barrel is pinned, three brass thimbles retain rod, brass forend tip, knife-blade front sight. Lock is signed but no longer readable. Brass trigger guard with double set triggers. Has brass buttplate, toe plate, and simple unadorned brass patch box with no engraving. Barrel and lock are a brown patina. Striped stock is in beautiful condition with hand finished patina. Extremely handsome flintlock. Mr. Large was a famous gun smith in the 1950's that re-rifled original guns for modern day shooters.
