9" barrel, .70bore-flintlockThis large bore single shot flintlock pistol bares no manufacturing mark or any proof marks that we can see. It is a rather plain design and very sturdy which is indicative to early American firearms of the period. It is all original. All metal surfaces are a dark chocolate brown patina with some freckling and some minor corrosion at breech. One piece walnut stock is very good. There is a 1-3/4” sliver missing on forearm at right barrel and 2 minor stress cracks at left flat and 1” grain separation on left side at muzzle. Has a heavy brass pummel with lanyard, brass trigger guard and nose cap. Overall very good condition with no changes or alterations. This is the type of hand gun that saw wide spread use in the American colonies in the 18th century. Was extremely well made and well fitted.
