This wonderful old Colt has 30-3/4" barrels with light to moderately pitted bores. The lock up is loose and top lever spring is weak. The barrels are a brown color and show a faint Damascus pattern. The receiver locks, have borderline engraving, and read Colt Pt. F.A. Mfg Co. The hammers are strong and hold their full cock position. The locks and action function properly and are in good condition. The forend wood shows worn checkering and has a black ebony inlaid tip with a Schnable forend. The length of pull to its original steel butt plate is 13 5/8". The butt stock is in good condition with good checkering. No breaks or cracks are present. A tiny sliver is missing from the right lock plate. This was one of the finest made shot guns of its time. A great decorative piece for your mantel, or with some TLC, can be brought back to the shooting range.
