Features a 20" barrel with .38-40 WCF. This Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine was manufactured in 1893, the second year of production for this model. It is basically a standard carbine with full magazine, ladder carbine rear sight, post front sight and carbine butt. The barrel, tube and barrel bands retain approximately 95% of the expertly re-applied blue finish. Frame and lever retain approximately 85% of the period applied full nickel finish. Has a replaced saddle ring and stud. Trigger is re-blued. The wood is very good, forearm does not set flush into frame. The stock fits excellently, is proud to metal at tang and fits nicely and frame. Stocks are made of gumwood, not walnut. The carbine buttplate is basically brown patina. All legends are strong. There is one replaced screw on both the left and right side of frame. Fine action. Mint bore. Loading gate retains 98% of the reapplied blue finish. There is some raw metal line surface scratches ahead of rear sight. Rear sight is an original, has not been refinished, but does have some mars. Great little 1892 carbine with a beautiful bore in antique serial range.
