.44-40 caliber with a 24" barrel. Offered is a beautiful deluxe Model 1873 Winchester with lovely Winchester period style engraving. Features a 24" part octagon barrel, half magazine, pistol grip, non-checkered walnut stock, pistol grip cap, rear sling stud and rifle butt. The barrel retains approximately 85% of the original blue finish with some light freckling. The frame, hammer, lever and buttplate retain approximately 90% of the brilliant Winchester-style reapplied case colors. Walnut stocks are in excellent condition, are still proud to metal with a majority of the original finish intact. The lifter is a fine mustard color with strong legends. Has a folding globe front sight with original Winchester sporting rear and two extra tang sight holes in tang. In addition to this lovely special order configuration, the elegant engraving can be found on the last 2" muzzle area of barrel, barrel breech, both side of frame (with buffalo and elk panels), buttplate and receiver bridge. Action is perfect. Strong clean bore. This is a wonderful caliber configuration with marvelous engraving and overall 90% finish. This is a superb gun that if all factory original would be pushing the six-figure mark. Factory letter: Shipped 9-29-1900 (.44 Rifle, 1/2 octagon, pistol grip stock, 1/2 magazine, plain trigger)
