Manufactured in Philadelphia, Pa. beginning 1893. These are marked Heilprin Mfg. Co. This is stamped on the right side of receiver with 1893, 1908, 1909. This is the model E that features the cast iron cocking lever and trigger with large nickel plated frame. It shoots a .173 BB. These were only manufactured from 1912-1920's. The book lists them at perhaps over 50 specimens known to exist. Gun is all original, it has the sliding collar over loading port. Has the original front and rear sites. The barrel and frame retain approximately 80% original nickel with the balance age freckled turning gun metal patina. The walnut stock is excellent with no cracks or chips anywhere. The pressed steel buttplate retains approximately 75% original nickel. Very scarce, especially in this condition given the general hard use these guns endured.
