Barrel is 9", bore is .54". Beautiful pistol and rarely seen. Sports a rare full octagon solid imported brass barrel with double London proofs and London script on top. Has a brass shield on back of wrist, brass butt, trigger guard and single trumpet thimble. The lock is not maker stamped and features light engraving on hammer. This would indicate all of the parts of this pistol were mfg. in Penn. with the exception of the imported barrel which was very common in the colonies. Original curly maple stock is very good. It does have a chip at the forend and is missing the rod. Typical Penn. made pistol for the American frontier. Early percussion system dating to the 1830s, widely used after 1830.
EARLY PENN. MFG. KY PERCUSSION PISTOL
