Arguably the most popular pocket pistol in the 1830s to 1850s was the revolving mutli-shot pepperbox. Offered are three all original examples of this percussion revolving barrel pocket revolver. The first pistol is an Allen six shot, .32 bore, double action percussion manufactured in Worcester by the Allen Thurber & Co. It is a standard model with light engraving on frame and shield with flutes and walnut bag handle. Barrel indexes perfectly. Metal is a gun metal-brown patina. Grips are excellent. The next two guns were manufactured by the Manhattan Manufacturing Co. of New York. The larger example is a six shot, double action with engraved frame, .30 bore and top hammer percussion. Barrel rotates but needs some mechanical attention. Metal is grey-brown patina. Grips are very good. The small pistol was also manufactured by Manhattan. It is a five shot, .28 bore, top hammer percussion, not working, no trigger guard with brown-grey metal. Right grip panel is replaced and ill-fitting. Needs some attention and restoration.
