7.62x54Rmm with a 29" barrel. This example was manufactured 1942 and is dated on top of the barrel breach. The bolt is numbered to rifle. It is a standard military model in all respects and sports the 3.5X PU scope and military mounts. The serial number is etched into the left side of mount. The scope has the star, hammer and sickle, 91-30, and is numbered "NY-817038". Was imported by CAI, which is stamped on left side of receiver bridge. All metal surfaces retain approximately 90% of the black military finish. Bolt is in the white. The laminated stocks have some of the usual varnish chipping, no cracks or chips and are very solid. Standard military rear sight with hooded globe front sight. Has the steel ramrod. These were readily available on the marked a few years ago but are getting extremely difficult to find. An excellent affordable sniper rifle, the type used during the Siege of Stalingrad.CORRECTION: Scope turret mounts are flat-top, later production.
