.45 LC caliber with a 7-1/2" barrel. This extremely early civilian Colt was shipped Westward to Omaha, Nebraska on March 23rd, 1875 in a 50 gun shipment to Myer & Geiger. It was shipped as most guns of this period in the same configuration as those being used by the cavalry on the Western outposts of that era. It exhibits all matching numbers. Still sports its original walnut grips and has all the early features. Mechanically, it is in perfect condition. On the bottom of the grips, the previous owner has stamped his initials "J.E.C." with "84" and the right grip has three kill notches. Exhibits all four Colt clicks and locks up tight. Very strong clean bore. ".45" is stamped on left side of trigger guard. Has strong barrel and frame legends. It has survived in basically a dark chocolate brown patina. A classic single action shipped West in the most tumultuous time frame of our expansionists history.
