Although thorough research has been done no maker can be found for this rifle. What we do know is the rifle is an under lever, .45-70 Government caliber with 26" barrels. The barrels show deep sharp rifling and light pitting close to the breech. Barrels sights are fixed having a folding rear leaf site. The barrel has proof marks which may be Belgium in origin. The gun has sling swivels attached to the lower barrel rib and butt stock. The lower barrel rib has two filled holes just in front of the swing swivel. The barrel appears to have been re-blued. The forearm shows a scalloped ebony in inlay with sharp checkering in excellent condition. The receiver has scroll engraving and a floral pattern behind the locks. The case colors have faded and are now silver in appearance. There is no pitting present but tarnish is visible. The locks function perfectly and show strong spring tension. The highly figured walnut buttstock rates excellent. Has a full checkered round knob pistol grip in excellent condition. The wood to metal fit is perfect and no serious nicks or dings are present. The length of pull is 14" to a black checkered plastic buttplate. There is a gold inlay 4 -1/2" from the toe.
