This rifle was made/altered for a young child. It was converted from flintlock to percussion at one time. It has a homemade thin brass front barrel band, has a single rod retaining thimble, has a Pennsylvania style wooden sliding patch box, two sling swivels. Barrel measures 15-1/2", has a .60 bore. Metal is basically brown patina, has original style front sling swivel with replaced rear, has a carved rollover left side cheek piece, metal musket type buttplate. Metal is a brown gray patina with no manufactures marks. Wood is very good with repaired chip at toe. Chipping on wooden patch box and chipping around lock and tip. Interesting early American Boys rifle. Manufactured the ladder part of the 18th century.
