A classic French automaton from the late 19th or earlier 20th century depicting a male child dressed in typical French style with a dunce hat. This youth is standing on a velvet covered base that contains the mechanism/music box that, when activated, he proceeds to play his instrument and occasionally sticks his tongue out at those observing his performance. A bisque head with open mouth, finely painted facial features, blue glass eyes and what appears to be old if not his original clothing. In functional working condition.
