.44 W.C.F., Barrel length 4-5/8". The frame on this revolver dates to 1878. The barrel has been cut, the cylinder pin has been replaced, the retaining screw is a replacement, walnut grips are a pair of poorly made and ill-fitting replacements. All matching numbers except cylinder not numbered. It has a replaced ejector rod head. Gun was polished at one time and has rounded edges and frame legends are mostly gone. Has proper four Colt clicks but spongy. Reset front sight. All brown patina. Indexes but does not lock up. It has a strong bore with usual black powder abrasion. This antique Colt has a good Western look as is, and might benefit from some gunsmith attention.
