5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured 1935. Extremely fine condition pre-war Colt Model 1911-A1 National Match semi-automatic pistol. This gun has seen very little use and features the blued finish with the fully checkered walnut grips. The slide retains approximately 98-99% original factory blue finish with just a hint of high edge and muzzle wear. Frame retains approximately 98-99% original factory blue with minute drag line. Grip safety retains 98% original blue. Arched checkered mainspring housing is turning patina. Right side of frame is stamped "National Match Colt Automatic Calibre 45". Has the small fixed blade front sight; rounded ear square notch rear sight; short checkered wide spur hammer; checkered slide stop, safety, magazine, trigger, arched mainspring housing, and push rod. Fine bore and perfect action. The pre-war Colt National Match was the most expensive handgun in their catalog and each was hand-fitted by their master armorers. This is one of the highest quality and finest condition National Match pistols that we have seen in a long time. It is undoubtedly one of the finest handguns ever built.
