Caliber is .44 Russian, barrel length is 6-1/2". This model is referred to as the New Model Russian or the Third Model. It has the English reissue stamp on top of rib last date July 25, 1871 which would have a serial range of 1 to 1,000. The only serial number stamped on metal can be found under the barrel latch which appears to be 1007. The right grip is stamped 2287. Can find no other serial numbers on gun. All metal surfaces are a grey patina with flashes of blue and appears to have been cleaned at one time. Smooth walnut grips are excellent, has a nickel plated lanyard ring. Has the distinctive sash trigger guard. Timing is perfect. Strong bore with minor abrasions. Has an integral front sight. Famous users of this revolver include Charlie Pitts and Pat Garrett. It is a standard six shot single action top break manufactured from 1874 to 1878.
