6-1/2" barrel in .44 Magnum caliber. This large 'N' frame .44 magnum double action revolver was manufactured in 1957 to 1958 and pre-dates the Model 29 assignment. Standard features include high polish factory blue finish, six shot, double action, with the red ramp front sight, adjustable target rear sight, case colored target hammer and trigger with the "Coke Bottle" diamond checkered grips with silver medallions. This is an excellent example of an early Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum that features the deep, rich factory high polish blue finish, approximately 98% remains with some light muzzle wear, light drag line, and some very minor high edge wear at cylinder and frame. The checkered "Coke Bottle" grips are excellent with sharp checkering and features the black discs, but are not numbered. Fine bore and action. It is readily apparent this early revolver has seen very little use during its lifetime. Housed in an original Smith & Wesson black box, missing the lining and tools. No paperwork included. Box is missing the brass hinge. With some restoration to the original black box and the addition of paperwork and lining, this would be a stellar example.
