Barrel length 26", .38-55 caliber. Offered is a Marlin Model 1893 high grade, deluxe lever action rifle in the popular .38-55 caliber. It has survived in spectacular factory original condition, retaining virtually all of the factory blue finish, include high polish blue on forend cap, 98% case colors on frame, lever, and butt plate. Fire blue screws. The frame has a superbly engraved Ulrich attributed game scene in oval on left side with scroll and border engraving. Retaining all of its rich case colors and its original shellac. The checkered walnut stock exhibit the fiery grain with the piano finish with swept pistol grip. Sights include folding globe front, sporting rear and tang. The stock has some extremely minor bruises and a little shellac wear on lever and sides of hammer are scored. Otherwise this rifle remains in almost new condition. The Cody research letter lists this rifle as having been shipped Sep 29,1900 with octagon barrel, 26", pistol grip stock, in .38-55 caliber. The engraving is not listed on letter but it is obviously 100% factory done. The execution is flawless. The bore is bright with deep rifling and the action is perfect. One of the finest engraved 1893 Marlins on the market. Razor sharp edges and legends. Stunning.
