Barrel 24", .44 long rimfire. Offered is a beautifully engraved, tip up, single shot, deluxe sporting rifle that features a full octagon barrel, and a deluxe checkered walnut stock. This is often referred to as the two-trigger model. The forward trigger releases the barrel for loading, the rear trigger fires. The barrel breech and frame feature beautiful floral and punch dot engraving that appears to be factory or dealer applied, but of the highest quality and skill. Walnut stock is finely checkered and is in near mint condition. All metal surfaces have been beautifully restored and retain virtually all of their reapplied finish. Strong visible rifling. One of the more interesting facets of this rifle is that the firm of "B. Kittredge Cincinatti O." is stamped to the right of the Wesson patent and the engraving encases these marks. The Kittredge firm is a well known firearm retailer in the 19th Century that was famed for their terminology that was applied by them to the Colt Lightning, Thunderer, and Omnipotent.
