Barrel length 24", .30-06 caliber. This rifle was manufactured from Sept 1943-Dec 1943. The barrel dates to Oct 1943, Springfield Armory. So it is proper for this receiver. The rear sight is a Type 3, lock bar with rounded edges, which is also correct for this rifle. It has proper Type 4 un-cut op-rod. Left side of stock has the proper "S.A." above "G.A.W." in box with ordinance reel on left side. This stamp is for George A. Woody, July 1943-Oct 1944, serial number range is 1,800,000 - 3,300,000. The serif proof "P" is in a circle on wrist. Proper butt plate with trap. Metal retains 95% of the original military phosphate finish. Original finish stock is excellent with strong inspector stamps and just a few minor dings. Rife has an ME rating of 1 with a strong bore and perfect action. Bolt is stamped "D28287-12SA S-B7" (perfect for this range). Heat lot is S-B7. An extremely nice, original, early WWII Springfield M-1 Garand with matching receiver, barrel, sights, and stock. Short fork follower rod.
