5-1/2" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Offered is a lovely high condition Colt Model 1917 U.S. Service revolver built on the New Service frame. Features military matte blue finish, six shot, double action, with smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. Top left side of frame has inspector stamp. Underside of barrel stamped "United States Property". Butt is stamped "U.S. Army Model 1917". Smooth walnut grips. Backstrap is a blue-brown patina, as is front grip strap and trigger guard. Cylinder has high edge wear with light drag line. Light muzzle wear. Balance 90% blue with some aging and toning on frame. Perfect action. Strong rifled bore. Wood grips are very good with some chipping on left panel. Far above average.
